About

Founded in 2014 by the late visionary collector Budi Tek, Yuz Museum Shanghai has served as a primary bridge between Eastern and Western contemporary art for over a decade. Originally famous for its monumental aircraft hangar space on the West Bund designed by Sou Fujimoto, the museum has transitioned into its second chapter: "Yuz Flow." Now led by director Justine Alexandria Tek, the museum operates as a satellite network, rooting itself within local communities to weave art into the fabric of daily urban life.

The current flagship location in Panlong Tiandi continues Tek’s philosophy of "collecting to share." By moving from the traditional "white box" model toward an integrated presence in historic water towns and urban hubs, the museum fosters a dynamic cultural dialogue. Its world-class collection—featuring major installations and pioneering works from the 1980s to the present—remains a cornerstone for cross-cultural exchange, academic research, and the education of the next generation of art enthusiasts in Shanghai.
