UCCA Dune | Qinhuangdao

UCCA Dune
Qinhuangdao / Director: Philip Tinari

About
Hidden beneath a strip of sand on the Bohai Bay, UCCA Dune is a subterranean sanctuary for art. Designed by OPEN Architecture, the museum is carved into the last remaining natural dune formation in northern China. Its cavernous, interconnected galleries were inspired by the primitive site of human creation—the cave. The museum focuses on experimental projects and site-specific installations that dialogue with the surrounding ecosystem.
