Three Shadows Photography Art Centre
Beijing / Founders: RongRong & inri
About
Launched in 2007 by artists RongRong and inri, Three Shadows is China’s first contemporary art center dedicated exclusively to photography and video art. Located in the Caochangdi art district, the institution occupies a stunning 4,600-square-meter grey brick complex designed by Ai Weiwei. Its mission is to bridge Chinese practice with the international community, providing a platform for professional research, publishing, and the identification of new talent through its prestigious photography awards.
Current Program
Cross: Xia Tian
18.04.2026 - 03.05.2026
Xia Tian’s solo exhibition Cross does not point toward a fixed destination, but rather toward a state of transition. It concerns not only the crossing of space, but also shifts in perception and cognition: from the visible to the invisible, from human to nonhuman scales, from stable structures to processes of continual becoming.
