About

Taikang Art Museum (TAM) is a premier non-profit institution located in the core area of Beijing’s CBD. Launched by the Taikang Insurance Group, the museum is the culmination of the Taikang Space’s 20-year history of research and collecting. It is dedicated to the systematic study of modern and contemporary Chinese art from the 20th century to the present. The museum’s mission is to "comb through" the relationship between artistic evolution and China's broader national development, offering a historical perspective on the turbulent and transformative nature of the modern Chinese century.

Housed in the Taikang Group Building, the museum’s 2026 programming emphasizes a scholarly, "historical-view" of contemporary art. Beyond its exhibition halls, TAM functions as a major archive for 20th-century Chinese fine arts and emerging new media. By providing a sophisticated public platform in the city's financial heart, the museum bridges corporate philanthropy with rigorous academic discourse, making it a critical site for the study of how art reflects the shifting identity of a modern nation.
