About

Located in the Cuigezhuang International Art District, the Red Brick Art Museum is an architectural landmark designed by Professor Dong Yugan. The museum is renowned for its extensive use of red bricks, creating a unique dialogue between the built environment and the surrounding traditional Chinese gardens. Founded by Yan Shijie and Cao Mei, the institution seeks to provide a "quiet, contemplative space" for the appreciation of contemporary art, blending modern white-box galleries with a labyrinthine landscape of brick courtyards and water features.

Since its opening in 2014, Red Brick has established itself as a premier venue for large-scale installations and international solo exhibitions. Its mission centers on the exploration of "the relationship between architecture, garden, and art," fostering a multi-sensory experience for visitors. By hosting influential global artists and maintaining a rigorous academic program, the museum serves as a vital bridge between the heritage of Chinese spatial design and the avant-garde practices of the global art world.
