Powerlong Museum
Shanghai / Founder: Xu Jiankang
About
Powerlong Museum was established in 2017 in Shanghai's Minhang District as a premier institution for both Chinese modern and contemporary art. Spanning 23,000 square meters, the museum's architecture is defined by its minimalist stone facade and a dramatic central spiral ramp that connects ten distinct exhibition halls. The museum houses the comprehensive "Stone Tower" collection, featuring significant works of traditional Chinese ink painting and calligraphy alongside avant-garde international installations. Its mission is to foster a global cultural dialogue while preserving the spiritual core of Chinese heritage through its extensive permanent archives and large-scale touring exhibitions.
