About
Founded in 2008 by China Minsheng Bank, the Shanghai Minsheng Art Museum was the first art institution in China established by a private financial organization to fulfill its corporate social responsibility. Upholding a mission of "bringing art to the public, and bringing people into the realm of art," the museum has become a critical platform for contemporary Chinese art and international cultural exchange.
Currently situated in the heart of the Huangpu District on Weihai Road, the museum has staged over 80 major exhibitions and 1,000 public education events since its inception. By breaking down the barriers between different artistic disciplines—ranging from avant-garde painting to digital media—the museum strives to foster a trans-regional dialogue. It remains a vital catalyst for the regeneration of Shanghai's urban culture, promoting inclusiveness and accessibility for the city's diverse audience.
