About

Established in 2012 by renowned collectors Liu Yiqian and Wang Wei, the Long Museum Pudong is the inaugural branch of one of China's most significant private art empires. Spanning approximately 10,000 square meters, the museum was designed by Chinese architect Zhong Song. Its granite-clad facade and minimalist, pure lines emphasize a "restrained Eastern style," providing a stark but sophisticated backdrop for its vast collection.

The Pudong branch is distinguished by its systematic presentation of the "Long Collection," which spans ancient Chinese artifacts, traditional calligraphy, and the country's most comprehensive private collection of Revolutionary Art (spanning from the Yan'an Period to the Reform and Opening Up). With four levels dedicated to different eras of Chinese history, the museum serves as a critical academic bridge between the nation's cultural heritage and its contemporary artistic evolution, offering a scholarly depth that complements the more experimental nature of its West Bund sister site.
