About

Located in the heart of the Bund Finance Center, the Fosun Foundation is a non-profit art institution launched in November 2016 by the Fosun Group. The building is an architectural masterpiece designed by Foster + Partners and Heatherwick Studio, distinguished by its unique rotating facade—a three-layered curtain of golden bronze tubes that move in synchronization with music. This "dancing building" has quickly become a symbol of Shanghai’s modern cultural ambition, blending Western architectural innovation with traditional Chinese aesthetics.

The foundation is dedicated to promoting contemporary art and fostering international cultural exchange. Its multi-story galleries host a rigorous program of high-profile exhibitions, ranging from solo presentations by global icons like Kengo Kuma and Yayoi Kusama to thematic group shows. With its signature rooftop "Counter Sky Garden" by Tatsuo Miyajima and a focus on public engagement, the foundation serves as a vibrant nexus for art, design, and community in the historic Bund district.
