About
Founded in 2018 by collector Joan Zhang, the ASE Foundation is a non-profit institution based in Shanghai with a dedicated global perspective on contemporary art. Located on the 7th floor of the historic Ruijin Building, the foundation operates at the intersection of private collection, academic research, and public education. It is defined by its commitment to three core values: Love and Heritage (Amore), Knowledge and Art (Sapientiae), and Enlightenment and Humanity.

The Book as Artistic Medium

A group exhibition curated by Biljana Ciric exploring the book as an artistic medium. Featuring works by Zhang Peili, Xu Bing, Ding Yi, Huang Yongping, Geng Jianyi, and more than 30 other contemporary Chinese artists.
